В одном предложении могут встречаться два разных времени: Future Continuous и Present Simple.
Вместо маркеров времени, которые указывают точное время совершения действия, может использоваться другое действие, выраженное глаголом в Present Simple.
She will be cutting vegetables when they come

(will be cutting — Future Continuous, come — Present Simple).
Когда в предложении есть слова when или if, предложение, которое идёт следом, будет в Present Simple, а главное предложение — в Future Continuous.
Не will be reading when Kate returns.
