Nanotechnology is an area of science and engineering where the manipulation of materials takes place at the nanometre scale. Nanoscience involves the ability to see and to control individual atoms and molecules. Nanotechnology has greatly contributed to the design and production of various kinds of materials, devices and systems.
  
What are advantages and possibilities of nanotechnology?
  
- It can contribute to disease treatments, such as cancer;
- Creating of energy-efficient products such as fuel;
- Production of durable, light-weight, efficient production tools;
- Improve the production of such electronic devices as LED and plasma displays, quantum computers and many others.
  
However there is a seamy side to everything. Here are some cons of nanotechnology.
 
- Potential threat to the environment;
- Loss of jobs;
- Nanotechnology might be used to improving weapons of mass destruction, such as atomic;
- Production with the use of nanotechnology is expensive.
 
Nanotechnology is already a part of our lives and, probably, the use of it can hugely contribute to advance in various areas.
